RFTL GLOBAL CHALLENGE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the RFTL Global Challenge?

In 2020, in response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we crafted a remote Virtual Ride For The Living experience so that people could still participate in this meaningful event from the comfort and safety of their own community.

Inspired by the success of the Virtual Ride, we’re pleased to announce that the Ride For The Living Global Challenge is here to stay and will take place annually in advance of the in-person Ride in Krakow. The Global Challenge combines fitness and Holocaust education to help support JCC Krakow and survivors around the world.

Whether you want to walk 10 miles over the course of a week or bike 60 miles in one day, the RFTL Global Challenge has something for everyone! To help you stay engaged and motivated, the RFTL Global Challenge will also offer free educational programming about the Holocaust and Jewish life in Krakow.

What are the dates for 2024?

The RFTL Global Challenge is scheduled to take place throughout the month of June 2024, culminating in the full in-person Ride For The Living experience in Krakow, Poland.

How much does it cost to participate?

Participation in the Global Challenge is totally free. Additionally, fundraising (while always appreciated) is not required.

How do I register?

Can my JCC, synagogue, federation, or local bike group join?

The RFTL Global Challenge is open to everyone and we love working with partners on creating customized events and programs for their communities. Last year we had over 50 organizational partners who joined us in riding, running, walking, and fundraising. Reach out to the RFTL Team at ridefortheliving@jcckrakow.org for more information.

Do I need to fundraise?

Fundraising for the RFTL Global Challenge is encouraged, but not required. All proceeds raised from the event will support JCC Krakow’s work in rebuilding Jewish life in Krakow and strengthening our local community through this difficult time. Click here to learn more about JCC Krakow.

How can I fundraise?

All participants will receive a welcome email before the start of the event containing a step-by-step guide to setting up a fundraising page, how to reach out to friends and family members, sample emails, and more! You can check out Kindful, our fundraising platform, here.
